IP Protection and Housing Technology

IP protection
Due to new production processes we are also able to manufacture many of our product families optionally with high IP protection.

Housing technology
We favour aluminium for combining robustness with low weight.

Plug connectors
We use 4-pole M8 sensor connectors as standard, and with RGB luminaires or multi-channel systems 6-pole M8 or 8-pole miniature circular connectors as well. With very compact luminaires the M5 sensor connector is also used. Other connectors on request.

Front covers / diffusers / polarising filters
We offer a wide range of replaceable front covers, diffusers and polarising filters for many of our luminaires in order to additionally influence their optical properties.

Luminaire Types

12 volt types
Optimised for DC operation with regulated 12V power supply, controlled constant current operation with the SC and GS series and controlled operation with the U-CONTROL.

24 volt types
Optimised for DC operation with regulated 24V power supply and controlled constant current operation with the SC and GS series. Strobe operation with these controllers is possible but limited.

SC types
Optimised for controlled constant current operation and strobe operation with the SC and GS series.

Advantages of LED technology

Advantages of LED technology
LEDs can be simply controlled and strobed and randomly switched on and off without negative results. They have no thermal radiation in the cone of light and have a high efficacy and long service life. In addition they offer a wide diversity of spectral, optical and mechanical properties.
As such, a wide spectrum of lighting tasks can be solved with dependable technology.

LED spectra
The available colour spectrum ranges from UV (e.g. 365nm) via various whites (e.g. cool white, warm white) and the classic colours (blue, green, yellow and red from 400 to 700nm) to IR (850, 880 to 950nm).

Aperture angle
This is the angle at which each individual LED radiates light. Typical angles lie between e.g. 15° and 120°. Small angles give strongly directional light and high intensities even with larger distances. Wider angles give more diffuse light and homogeneous illumination even at shorter distances.

UV LEDs
LEDs in ultraviolet or deep blue open up new possibilities for a very wide range of applications. Just ask us!

Operating Modes

Operating Modes
Continuous operation / DC operation
Continuous operation of the luminaire with normal, regulated power supply (or controller) without time constraints.
Applicable luminaire types: 12V, 24V (SC type as well with controller)

Switched DC operation
Selective ON/OFF switching of the luminaire to specific times via e.g. SPS, opto relay or controller. In this way the mean power for example can be reduced or the service life extended.
Applicable luminaire types: 12V, 24V (SC type as well with controller)

Brightness-controlled operation / controlled constant current operation
Control of the operating current or operating voltage via a controller for example or controllable power supplies in order to vary the intensity of the lighting.
Applicable luminaire types: 12V, 24V (SC type as well with controller)

Strobe operation
Luminaire operation with excessive operating current on a controller with very short switching times.
Applicable luminaire types: SC type (optimal), 24V type (limited)
