Color temperature

The color temperature (or light color) describes the color impression of lighting and corresponds to the temperature of a “black body” at which it emits light in the same color. The color temperature is not an indication of the temperature of the light, but describes the color impression, which ranges from extra warm white (< 2,700 K), warm white (< 3,300 K) to neutral or cool white (3,300 to 5,300 K) to daylight white (> 5,300 K).
Color temperature in Kelvin (source: Wikipedia)
You can visualize a glowing iron that is initially dark red and appears orange, yellow, white and finally light blue as the temperature rises.
The color temperature is specified for “white” LEDs, whose light is either mixed from RGB LEDs or converted from short-wave light into longer-wave light(photoluminescence). The color of monochromatic LEDs is specified in wavelengths (nm).
