High-speed lighting

High-speed or flash lighting only emits light for a very short time, usually < 1 ms. The flash duration is shorter than the exposure time of the camera and is within its exposure time.
To ensure that the flash lights up at the right time when the picture is taken, the flash synchronization must be defined in terms of time and organized in a stable manner. In order to capture equally bright images even with very short light pulses, a proportionally greater irradiance must be provided for short flash durations. Modern LED lighting controllers implement control on the basis of highly dynamic digital controllers. In principle, all lighting techniques can be implemented as flash lighting.
