Thermal conductivity

The specific thermal conductivity or thermal conductivity coefficient λ of a material is a quantitative measure of its ability to conduct thermal energy. The unit for this is W / (m- K) (watts per meter and Kelvin).
It describes how well or poorly a material conducts heat and how well or poorly it is therefore suitable for thermal insulation. The lower the thermal conductivity value, the more effective the thermal insulation. The reciprocal of the thermal conductivity is the specific thermal resistance.
